The Year 5's participated in an Amazing Race as part of EOTC. We were impressed with the way the children worked together as a team to problem solve.
There were 15 challenges to complete:
- One minute singing challenge
- 500 skips by whole team
- Build a human pyramid
- Cross the river using two chairs
- Build hurdles with newspaper and tape
- Make a word using your bodies
- Everyone must slide down the slide backwards, face first, and then all at once
- Padaminton
- Make up a 1 minute play and act it out
- Library challenge: How many chapters in the whole Harry Potter series?
- Build a fort using cranium pieces
- Netball shooting, how many can you get?
- Team to hang from the monkey bars for 3 minutes in total
- Te Reo challenge - Haka, poi and rakau
- Counting challenge: Number of chairs in all Tui classrooms
Have a look at some of the action.
What a creative and fun way to learn problem solving skills! Thank you Year 5 team for giving our children a fantastic learning experience!
