Multiplication Challenge

This year we are putting in place an OPTIONAL extra homework activity.

It is a challenge to do with helping to learn the times tables.

There are three different levels that can be achieved for each table. Students can achieve bronze, silver or gold for each of their times tables.

Bronze level: students can recite multiplications in order e.g. 1x2=2, 2x2=4, 3x2=6 and so on.
Silver: students can recall multiplications in any order when tested e.g 2x7=14, 2x3=6 and so on.
Gold: students can recall multiplication and division facts in any order e.g 18÷2=9, 9x2=18 and so on.

Once the students are ready, they can be tested by a teacher or a parent. Parents can sign for the multiplication achieved on the back of their booklet or they can bring it into class and the teachers will test them.

This can also be signed off as a Strive project. We do not intend for this activity to cause any stress at home. It is a fun way for the students to challenge themselves in learning their multiplication facts.

Any queries or concerns let us know.
